MACON -- Brandi Buie scored 19 points to lead Randolph-Clay to a 53-32 win over Mitchell County Thursday in the GHSA Class A public school championship game at the Macon Coliseum.

Randolph-Clay on Thursday won its first state championship since 2000 and its third overall.

A'Miracle Jones led Mitchell County with 12 points.

The Red Devils (27-4) beat the Eagles for the fourth time this season. Their three previous meetings were decided by five points or less.

Randolph-Clay never trailed Thursday, pushing its lead to 18 points in the third quarter. The Eagles (25-7) got as close as nine in the third quarter, but the Red Devils answered with a 7-0 run early in the fourth quarter to extend the lead back to double digits.

The Red Devils lost to Gordon Lee in the 2013 championship game, when they wore Jones County jerseys because they brought the wrong ones to Macon.
