According to Barrow County Emergency Services Lieutenant Scott Dakin, drivers were initially ordered to avoid the area as traffic backups were extensive.
The accident, which was reported just after 5 p.m., occurred between the exits for Highway 53 and Highway 211.
Dakin said the closed lanes were re-opened to all traffic by 6:10 p.m.
He added that the driver of the truck suffered minor injuries in the crash.
