Deal said Tuesday that some components of the plan have already been implemented - Georgia was hit with an ice storm in mid-February.
The heads of several state agencies responsible for public safety, emergency response and transportation recommended an overhaul of the Ready Georgia application and upgrading the Department of Transportation's equipment and storage capabilities.
Deal says officials also recommended changing laws regarding commercial vehicles, and establishing stricter enforcement and punishment of drivers who violate laws concerning chains and emergency equipment.
Deal says his Severe Winter Weather Warning and Preparedness Task Force will review the report.
