GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Planning Commission (HCPC) is recommending approval of rezoning requests aimed at bringing more commercial development to the South Hall area as well as a new school.

County Planning Director Srikanth Yamala confirms that the planning board has signed off on the rezoning to S-S (Suburban Shopping) of about two acres in the 6300 block of Spout Springs Road.

In addition, planners are recommending approval of the rezoning sought by North Georgia Christian School for about 100 acres in the 4700 block of Poplar Springs Road, where the private school plans to re-locate. Classes are now being held at Chestnut Mountain Church.

The next stop for both applications is the March 27 Hall County Board of Commissioners meeting.
