One of those suspects, J.B. Owen, Jr, 58, is from Canton, but he had been employed with Advanced Ambulance Service, Inc., which provides emergency medical transport to Forsyth County.
Forsyth County government officials issued a statement when they learned of Owen's arrest.
"We were initially notified by the president of the company, Mr. Stan Rutledge, on Sunday afternoon. Mr. Rutledge has been very forthcoming on the issue and informed us mid-morning on Monday that he had accepted a resignation from Mr. Owen.
"At this time there is no reason to believe that this incident will affect the level of service provided by Advanced Ambulance to Forsyth County. Advanced Ambulance, doing business as Forsyth County EMS, has been the sole contract provider of emergency medical transport to Forsyth County since 01 January 2008 and currently operates seven (7), 24-hours-a-day advanced life support ambulances responding from various Forsyth County fire stations."
In addition to Owen, two Winder men were caught in the sting. They have been identified as Richard Roger Tumlin, 49, a load operator, and Kennith Samuel Walker, 48, a salesman.
The undercover investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and other agencies targeted people using the Internet to try to meet children for sex. The arrests were announced Sunday.
