The benefit concert/fundraiser for Habersham County EMT Gary Pollard kicks off at 2 p.m. at the Habersham County Fairgrounds near Clarkesville.
Pollard also is a former Banks County fire chief.
In lieu of an admission charge, donation boxes will be located at various locations in the building.
The event will feature a concert, cake walk, silent auction and drawings.
Children's activities that will include face painting, balloon animals, games of cornhole, a petting farm, a bounce house and mobile laser tag.
Local law enforcement, EMS personnel and firefighters will be present to visit with children.
Barbecue, cotton candy, popcorn, drinks and more will be for sale throughout the day.
A silent auction will feature a handmade quilt, cabin stays, zipline tours, a football signed by members of the 2013 Alamo Bowl Champion Oregon Ducks and more.
There also will be drawings for various gift certificates and other prices. Tickets for the drawings are $1 each.
Another of the auction items will be a Yamaha guitar that belonged to the late Billy Heimberger.
Some of the other silent auction and raffle items include a wine tasting party for 10 people, tickets to the theater, bowling tickets, free oil changes, a Carhartt blanket, free massages, a cornhole set, a guitar lamp, a fire extinguisher lamp and numerous restaurant gift certificates.
The tentative band lineup for the concert is as follows:
* 4-5 p.m. - Deuces Wild Band;
* 5:30-6:30 p.m. - Eli Carlan and the Thunder City Aliens;
* 7-8 p.m. - Whiskey Revolver;
* 8:30-9:30 p.m. - Under the Wheel; and
* 10-11 p.m. - Coal Mountain Band.
Music between bands will be provided by DJ Fenway Entertainment.
Those attending the event are asked to bring their own chairs.
All proceeds from the event will go to Pollard and his family.
Habersham County Emergency Medical Technician Gary Pollard recently was diagnosed with liver cancer. A fundraiser today will benefit his family.
This handmade quilt is of the items being auctioned at the fundraiser.
