Gainesville Jaycees honor Young Man/Woman of the Year

GAINESVILLE -- The Gainesville Jaycees and honored guests presented the annual Young Man/Young Woman of the Year Awards on Thursday, recognizing two deserving recipients.

Melissa Tymchuk was named as the Young Woman for 2013. Tymchuk, who works as the public relations and marketing director for Northeast Georgia Health System, is a native of Homer and a University of Georgia graduate.

Jimbo Floyd, a Bainbridge native, was honored as the Young Man for 2013 for his work with the Gainesville/Hall County community since moving to the area 10 years ago. Floyd works for Turner, Wood and Smith Insurance Company, where he is vice president of their commercial insurance division. He is also a University of Georgia graduate.

Both honorees have devoted much time and service to various local and regional civic organizations, as well as worked with numerous charitable institutions.

The Jaycees are proud to honor the latest recipients and congratulate them on their hard work.
