Baseball: Dawson County shuts down East Jackson, 13-0

COMMERCE -- The Dawson County baseball team dominated East Jackson 13-0 on Wednesday in Commerce.

The Tigers (2-0) shut down the Eagles' bats behind the pitching of JT Eggert and Brody Chester. Eggert started and tossed five shutout innings, striking out eight and allowing just two walks. Chester pitched two innings of scoreless relief, striking out two.

Eggert also excelled at the plate, belting a three-run home run. Dawson County's Logan Burt also went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI.

Ryan Thomas led East Jackson's offense, going 2-for-3.

Dawson County will travel to face Chestatee at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
