Soccer: Chestatee girls blank Cedar Shoals

GAINESVILLE -- The Chestatee girls soccer had a successful home opener taking a 4-0 win over Cedar Shoals Tuesday night.

The Lady War Eagles (2-2-0) got a pair of goals in each half. Alyssa Yarck notched the first goal early in the first half off a break away. Samantha Addington hit a long ball from 30 yards out to make 2-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Bailey Hooper finished off a cross from Sadie Foote to push the margin to 3-0. Foote secured her own goal two minutes later on a fast break away.

Misandy Chavez earned her first shutout of the season in goal. Jessi Stephens and Jordan Pruitt played well defensively.

Chestatee will play host to Franklin County Wednesday night in a make-up game that was cancelled during the snow and ice week.
