ATLANTA -- Despite a gut-wrenching 64-62 loss to Woodward Academy Monday night in the second round of the Class AAA playoffs, North Hall girls coach Kristi House says there is plenty to look forward too next year.

"We return all five starters next year and the girls really showed me a lot this past week," House. "After the region tournament they could have given up easy. But they didn't. I'm extremely happy about the effort they gave these past two games."

It was a back-and-forth game the entire way. Woodward led 18-12 after the first quarter but the Lady Trojans outscored Woodward 20-10 in the second quarter to take a 32-28 halftime lead.

The War Eagles regained the lead 45-44 heading into the fourth quarter and the two teams exchanged the lead in the fourth quarter. The Lady Trojans had a chance to tie or win the game but missed a shot at the buzzer that would have sent the game into overtime.

Sadie Cleveland led North hall with 19 points. Kensi Gillespie added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and Sydney Cleveland had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Trojans.

Mercer-signee Alex Williams led Woodward Academy with 28 points.
