Jeffery David Arnold, 40, who was wanted for burglary in connection with the incident, was located at a residence inside the city limits of Cornelia, said Deputy Carissa McFaddin of Banks County Sheriff's Office.
The lookout for Arnold stemmed from an incident at the Banks County home Sunday night.
When the female complainant arrived home about 9:10 p.m. Sunday, she said she saw Arnold run from inside the home toward the front yard. She said he began screaming at her and began hitting a vehicle on the property.
The woman repeatedly told Arnold to leave, but he refused.
Arnold fled the property on foot prior to deputies' arrival at about 9:35 p.m.
"Banks County deputies and a Banks County K-9 unit were able to track Arnold's steps to an area away from the scene, where deputies believe the subject left in a vehicle," McFaddin said.
McFaddin said deputies secured a warrant against Arnold for first-degree burglary.
Arnold was considered armed.
"Witnesses who observed Arnold flee from the scene advised that he was armed with an assault rifle that was reported missing from the residence," McFaddin said.
