1 killed, 1 hurt helping motorist change tire on DeKalb freeway

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed one man and critically injured another man as they helped change a tire on a metro Atlanta freeway.<br /> <br /> DeKalb County police say two women had called the men to help them change the tire when the men were struck by a pickup. It happened around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday on westbound Interstate 20, near Panola Road.<br /> <br /> Police said a pickup truck they said was not maintaining its lane struck the men and kept driving. A second car followed the truck until the driver was pulled over.<br /> <br /> Authorities tell WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/1kWr4ME ) that one of the men was hospitalized in critical condition and the other one died.<br /> <br /> The crash snarled traffic during the early part of the Wednesday morning rush hour.
