Shikiya Brown scored nine points, as the Lady Red Elephants got back into the state playoffs after a one-season absence via their Region 8-AAAAA quarterfinal win on Monday in Loganville.
Paisley Lee also scored eight points, while Tamia Rucker put up six points, as Gainesville (20-6) took an early lead and cruised into the semifinals.
"This is a huge accomplishment for our program; we have a young team this year, and they have fought hard and committed," Lady Red Elephants coach Brenda Hill-Gilmore said.
The Lady Red Elephants will take on Clarke Central at 4 p.m. in the 8-AAAAA semifinals on Monday in Loganville. Gainesville split regular season contests against the Lady Gladiators.
"It's going to be a battle; we're going to have our hands full," Hill-Gilmore said. "We've got to play great defense, block out and play our game."
