CLEVELAND - This week's snow storm has impacted numerous operations in the area, including the White County Food Pantry.

The local pantry did not open Friday, but has planned a special distribution day Saturday.

Wayne Burnett, White County Food Pantry manager, said they know a lot of people may have exhausted their food supply during this storm so they will be holding a one-time-only Saturday opening.

Burnett said Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon the food pantry will be open for those in need to pick up food. He emphasized that this is a special one-time distribution event.

In related information, the Cleveland Seventh Day Adventist Church Life Changing Ministries Food Distribution that normally is held on the second Thursday of each month was not held this week because of the storm and road conditions.

Organizers said they will have a special distribution at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20. The distribution location is East Kytle Street in Cleveland, across from Truett-McConnell College in the building behind the Chevron convenience store.
