Garden center owner Conrad Holsten dies

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville man well-known to many "green thumbs" in the area has died.

Conrad Paul Holsten, 76, died Tuesday at his home following an extended illness.

Holsten grew up on Long Island in New York but moved to Georgia to help his family in the garden center business. He owned and operated Conrad's Garden Center in Oakwood for many years.

The funeral will be Sunday at 4:00 at the Little and Davenport Chapel.
