DAWSONVlLLE -- The Dawson County boys basketball team took out Banks County 53-38 on Saturday night in Dawsonville to finish in a tie for second place in Region 7-AAA.

The Tigers (19-6, 10-4 Region 7-AAA) finished with the same region record as East Hall, which defeated Fannin County on Saturday, necessitating a coin flip to determine which team will finish as the No. 2 seed in 7-AAA.

Dawson County inched ahead 10-6 in the first quarter and finally pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Leopards 19-10.

Lucas Pain led the Tigers with 15 points, while Jonathan Sanderson and Cameron Millholland each added 10 points.

Gatlin Boswell scored 14 to pace Banks County.

Both teams will play again on Wednesday in the first round of the Region 7-AAA tournament.
