DAWSONVILLE -- The Dawson County boys basketball team put the clamps on West Hall, 57-37 on Friday to stay tied with East Hall in the race for the No. 2 seed in Region 7-AAA.

The Tigers (18-6, 9-4 Region 7-AAA) and Vikings each face one more region contest on Saturday knowing that a loss would likely make the difference between No. 2 and No. 3. A win for both, however, would necessitate a coin toss to decide seeding for next week's region tournament.

Dawson County left few doubts on Friday, pulling away from a 18-18 halftime scoreline with 21 third quarter points for a 39-26 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

Levi Whitmire led the Tigers with a game-high 20 points, while Cameron Millholland added 16.

Hunter Atkison scored 12 to pace West Hall.

The Spartans travel to face North Hall on Saturday in both teams' final regular season game.

Dawson County will play host to Banks County on Saturday. East Hall travels to face Fannin County.
