GAINESVILLE -- The North Hall girls basketball team knocked off Dawson County 66-49 on Tuesday in Gainesville to maintain its push for the No. 2 seed in Region 7-AAA.

The Lady Trojans (16-7, 8-4 Region 7-AAA) are vying with Banks County for the No. 2 seed in 7-AAA (the results of the Lady Leopards Tuesday game against Fannin County were not available at publication time).

Sydney Clevelend scored 18 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead North Hall, while Kensi Gillespie put up 16 points.

Ashley Parker scored a game-high 24 points for Dawson County (15-8, 6-6), but it could not derail the Lady Trojans. Sheyenne Seabolt also added 19 points.

The Lady Trojans poured in 26 first quarter points to take a 13-point lead that they would not relinquish.

North Hall will take on 7-AAA No. 1 seed Buford on Friday on the road.

Dawson County, meanwhile, will take on West Hall on Friday.
