GAINESVILLE -- The Dawson County boys basketball team pulled into a tie for second place in Region 7-AAA on Tuesday after a 51-44 win over North Hall in Gainesville.

The Tigers' win, combined with East Hall's loss to White County, set up a two-way tie for the No. 2 seed with just two games left in the region schedule.

North Hall made Dawson County battle for every inch, as the Tigers (17-6, 8-4 Region 7-AAA) inched to a 28-26 halftime lead and only out-scored the Trojans (6-17, 3-9) 18-13 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Cameron Millholland and Sam Muenchen each scored a game-high 13 points to lead Dawson County, while Levi Whitmire added 10.

Brock Wingo paced North Hall with 10 points.

The Trojans will travel to face region No. 1 seed Buford on Friday.

Dawson County, meanwhile, will play host to West Hall on Friday.
