GAINESVILLE - Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh plans to make an official announcement about his re-election campaign at an event in Gainesville later this week.

Darragh was appointed as DA to the Northeastern Judicial Circuit for Hall and Dawson County by then-Governor Sonny Perdue in August 2005. He was first elected as DA in 2007.

Prior to becoming District Attorney, Darragh served as Chief Assistant DA for Former DAs Jason Deal and C. Andrew Fuller and as an Assistant DA for former DA Bruce Udolph. He also served as both Chief Assistant DA and Chief Trial Assistant DA for former DA Lydia Sartain.

Darragh's re-election kick-off is set for Thursday at the Hunt Tower in downtown Gainesville.
