ATLANTA (AP) Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal plans to announce the names of people who will be tasked with making recommendations to improve the state's response to severe weather events.

A snow storm last week dropped about 2 inches of snow on the metro Atlanta area and brought traffic to a standstill. Deal has faced considerable criticism for the state's response to that snowfall, which left tens of thousands of people stranded on icy, gridlocked roads.

The governor plans to will publicly name the members of the Severe Weather Warning Task Force during a news conference at 1:15 p.m. Monday at the state Capitol.

Deal and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed have promised they will review what happened and make changes so they are better prepared for future storms.
