JCPenney at Lakeshore Mall plans $1M renovation

GAINESVILLE - The JCPenney at Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville has submitted $1 million worth of renovation plans to the Gainesville Community Development Department.<br /> <br /> According to Rusty Ligon, Community Development Director, the plans submitted were architectural. The work includes new tiles, carpet, paint, base, walls, ceiling and lighting and a total restroom remodel to meet ADA guidelines. The work will cover roughly 54,000 square feet of the existing 62,000 square foot store.<br /> <br /> Ligon said the department will review the plans in two weeks, and the company will modify the plans based on their comments. He was unsure of the timeline for the project.<br /> <br /> JCPenney Corporate was unable to be reached for comment on the matter; Lakeshore Mall and the store branch both referred comment to corporate.<br />
