Fire consumes two acres of woods off 365 in Hall County

GAINESVILLE - While no one was hurt, Hall County fire officials say a couple of acres of woods burned Friday afternoon off of Highway 365.<br /> <br /> Hall County Fire Services Interim Deputy Chief Chad Black said the call reporting smoke in the area came around 1:41 p.m. to Cagle Road near Pine Drive.<br /> <br /> "Some type of outdoor unattended burn got out and got into the woods, causing about two acres to become involved," Black said.<br /> <br /> He said the flames got within ten to 15 feet of a residence.<br /> <br /> "Our units and Georgia Forestry were able to keep the fire off of that. There was some damage noted to a privacy fence belonging to one of the homeowners in the area."<br /> <br /> The fire remains under investigation.
