Only minor damage when vehicle hits apartments in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - All of the fire department activity on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville Friday afternoon was the result of a car hitting a building.<br /> <br /> Gainesville Fire Department Division Chief Keith Smith said there were no injuries and only minor damage to the exterior of Pinecove Apartments.<br /> <br /> Smith said, however, "One apartment will have to be repaired before the occupant can move back in.<br /> <br /> He said the vehicle also hit a transformer, knocking out power to most of the building and causing a small fire which was put out by some of the people living at the complex.<br /> <br /> Smith said the driver of the car was arrested for "suspicion of DUI."<br /> <br /> (AccessNorthGa.com's Ken Stanford contributed to this story.)<br /> <br />
