Guided tours this month at White Co. historic site

HELEN - The historic Hardman House across from the Nacoochee Indian mound is open for tours on Thursdays through Sundays this month. Learn the secrets and history of this 145-year-old former governor's farm while on a guided tour. <br /> <br /> Tours will take place at 9 a.m.., 11 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The cost per person is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors over 62, $5 for children 6-17, and $3 for children under 6. Tour prices will increase when renovations are completed. Register in advance. To register call Smithgall Woods State Park at 706-878-3087. Tours will last approximately one hour. The house is not climate controlled so visitors should dress appropriately.<br /> <br /> Hardman Farm is located south of Helen on the corner of Georgia Highways 17 and 75. It is across from a gazebo-topped Indian mound, a popular landmark in the Nacoochee Valley. <br />
