Girls basketball: North Forsyth stays atop 6-AAAAAA

CUMMING -- North Forsyth maintained its lead atop Region 6-AAAAAA with a 57-47 victory over Lambert Friday night in girls basketball action.

The Lady Raiders (20-2, 10-1 Region 6-AAAAAA) trailed 17-13 after the first quarter but grabbed the lead 30-28 by halftime. The game was close until the fourth quarter when North Forsyth used a 17-9 run to blow the game open.

Junior point guard Lochlain Corliss had another solid game with 13 points, four assists, four steals, and three rebounds. Junior Caroline Bowns added 10 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

Avery Scarbrough had nine points and Okwunne Ogbogu and Kendall Bennet each scored eight points for North Forsyth.

The Lady Raiders will start a busy finish to the regular season Monday playing host to Chattahoochee in another 6-AAAAAA contest. They wil travel to West Forsyth Tuesday and then finish at home against Centennial on Friday.
