ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (AP) - Police in North Carolina have charged a teenager with attempted murder in the shooting of four youths earlier this week at a church playground.

Police say 17-year-old Shyheim Collins of Rocky Mount is charged as an adult with four counts of attempted first-degree murder after more than a dozen bullets were sprayed Monday into a crowd playing basketball at the Word Tabernacle Church.

Collins was being held Friday morning in the Nash County jail on a $4 million bond. He had not yet been assigned an attorney.

Twelve-year-old Nyreek Horne remains in critical condition after being shot in the head. Three other young males shot - ages 13, 17 and 19 - were all treated and released.

Police have not yet suggested a motive but say they expect to make other arrests.
