According to Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum, Christian Alan Saavedra, 18, allegedly posted the threats on social media Thursday night. Authorities acted, and no violence occurred.
"It was actually handled prior to anything occurring, and thank goodness for that," Mangum said.
Mangum said the postings related to acts of violence at East Jackson High School and against the tv station. She said Saavedra had been a student there, but she didn't think he currently was.
"When he was picked up and talked to today (Friday), he admitted to putting that posting on the website," Mangum said.
Saavedra is charged with one count of terroristic threats and one count of dissemination of information relating to a terroristic act.
When asked if authorities knew why Saavedra allegedly made the postings, Mangum said, "not really, but we have has some dealings with him before."
He's being held in the Jackson County Jail without bond.
