GAINESVILLE - Smoke from a cooking fire at the Enota Gardens Apartments late Thursday afternoon, and an unanswered knock on the door by a concerned neighbor, led to a 911 call to the Gainesville Fire Department.
"Our units did respond and upon arrival did find some light smoke. It did take them several minutes to get somebody to come to the door," Gainesville Fire Captain Keith Smith said
One fire unit stayed at the scene to help the resident clear the smoke from their apartment, according to Smith.
