Coldest air of the week expected early Friday

ATLANTA (AP) Georgia's coldest temperatures of the week are expected early Friday morning, with lows in single-digits in much of the state.

The National Weather Service will have a wind chill advisory in effect from 9 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday for most of north Georgia. It will include all of metro Atlanta and cities including Blairsville, Dalton, LaGrange, Gainesville and Rome.

Forecasters predict that wind chill values will range from zero to 10 degrees below zero across the region. Air temperatures are expected to range from around 5 degrees to 15 degrees.

The weather service projects lows early Friday morning of 12 in Atlanta; 13 in LaGrange and Gainesville; 5 in Blairsville; and 9 in the Dalton and Rome areas.
