GAINESVILLE - With the sudden resignation of Brad Nurkin Tuesday, Northeast Georgia Medical Center is now searching for a new president.

Carol Burrell, Northeast Georgia Health System president and CEO, said Nirkin cited personal reasons for the resignation. She said in a press release that the search for a new president would begin in the coming days.

"Brad joined NGMC in August 2012 and oversaw daily operations of the hospital and continued development of its Heart & Vascular and Oncology Services," says Burrell.

"We have divided those responsibilities among me and other members of the senior leadership team in the interim."
