SUWANEE - A house fire in Suwanee Sunday afternoon left five people uninjured, but out of their home.

According to Gwinnett County Fire Lieutenant Colin S. Rhoden, fire crews responded to the blaze in the 3700 block of Crescent Walk Lane to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof area of the home. Firefighters worked quickly to battle the blaze and to protect an adjacent home, which was being affected by windy conditions.

Firefighters initially entered the home to fight the fire, but were removed to battle form outside and the fire spread quickly. Crews were eventually able to bring the fire under control, but the home was a total loss, with five adults being displaced.

The home next door suffered damage to the vinyl siding and an exterior wall, but it's residents were not forced to leave. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
