Two new blasts of arctic air headed to Ga. this week

PEACHTREE CITY - If you are tired of the below normal temperatures North Georgia has been experiencing since the first of the new year, brace yourself because it looks like at least another week of them.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says two weak frontal systems will quickly move through the area - one Tuesday and the other Thursday.

There won't be any single-digit readings like the ones that were common across North Georgia two weeks ago when the year's first arctic blast of cold air moved through. However, look for readings in the teens a couple of mornings and 20s at other times except for 30s Monday night. Highs in Gainesville will hold in the 30s and 40s and it will be windy at times, except for Monday, which is likely to be only day this week when temperatures not below normal.

Forecasters say there is very little moisture associated with these Alberta Clippers, so only a few light snow flurries are expected across northern Georgia.

Temperatures in Gainesville have been below average on 15 of the first 19 days of the new year.
