Lawrenceville father charged in infant daughter's death

LAWRENCEVILLE - A Lawrenceville father has been charged in the death of his infant daughter, according to a report from the Gwinnett County police.

Investigators said 28-year-old Reuben Valrie has been jailed on charges of cruelty to children and felony murder in the death of 3-month-old Aliyana Valrie. He is being held without bond.

EMS and police responded to Reuben Valrie's call from the Wesley St. Claire Apartment Complex on Sweetwater Road Wednesday. He told authorities his daughter had stopped breathing.

Homicide investigators took over the case after the Medical Examiner's Office found what they called "significant trauma" on the infant's body. They said it appeared that the baby had been shaken.
