CLARKESVILLE - After being gone for two days, Habersham County authorities said a runaway teenager was found safely Thursday afternoon.

According to the Habersham County Sheriff's Office, deputies found 16-year-old Rodney Rodrigues Howard while following up on a lead within the city limits of Clarkesville.

Deputy Heath Ziegler and Clarkesville Police Department Assistant Chief Danny Clouatre found Howard around 5:00 p.m.

Howard, also known as R.J., had been missing since Tuesday afternoon. His last known location was on Level Grove Road in Cornelia.

"We would also like to thank the media for all the coverage which lead to a multitude of tips and would like to thank everyone who called in which ultimately lead us to finding Rodney safely," a sheriff's office statement said.

Authorities have not released any details regarding where Howard had been staying or what he was doing for the past two days.
