ATLANTA -- Authorities say former Georgia Tech and NBA player Javaris Crittenton was among more than a dozen people arrested in a drug trafficking sting in metro Atlanta.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard's office said in a news release that 14 people were swept up in the early morning sting Wednesday.

Crittenton and the others are accused of selling multi-kilo quantities of cocaine and several hundred pounds of marijuana during a seven-month investigation that dated back to June 2012.

At the time of his arrest Wednesday, Crittenton was out on bond awaiting trial on murder charges in the August 2011 shooting death of an Atlanta woman.

Following his time with the Yellow Jackets, Crittenton played with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Memphis Grizzlies and Washington. He signed a non-guarantee contract with Charlotte Bobcats in 2010 but was waived after three weeks.
