BRASELTON - Two people were injured in a house fire in Braselton over the weekend, according to emergency officials from Jackson County.

EMS Director Steve Nichols said crews from three stations were called to the house on Evergreen Court just minutes after midnight. He said there were four people in the house at the time, and all managed to escape the two-story structure.

"We had one female with minor burns to her hands, arms and face area," said Nichols. "Supposedly she [received] those trying to escape the house."

Another patient, a man, suffered smoke inhalation. Both were admitted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment. Both are expected to make a full recovery.

Nichols said investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire. He said there was a personal oxygen tank being used in the home that caught fire, but the State Fire Marshal's Office and the West Jackson Fire Department were working to determine if that was the origin of the fire.
