Boil water advisory lifted in Toccoa

TOCCOA - The City of Toccoa has lifted a boil water advisory that was in effect for two days.

Toccoa Police Department released a statement that as of 1 p.m. Saturday, the advisory is lifted and all Toccoa water customers can use water for consumption.

Bacteriological samplings collected from the city's water system Friday tested negative for the presence of harmful bacteria, the statement reads.

The sampling was conducted for two days after a 14-inch main froze and burst on Falls Road during this weeks frigid temperatures, according to the statement.

The Toccoa Water System serves customers in Stephens and Habersham counties.
