GAINESVILLE - Reports of an assault and shots fired call in Gainesville Saturday resulted in two arrests and an attempted murder charge against one of the suspects.

Gainesville Police Corporal Joe Britte said the 1:45 p.m. call came to the Lake Forrest Apartments located at 1360 Otila Drive. Britte said he wasn't aware that anyone was injured by the gunfire.

Police arrested two people, Kendrick Deshawn Goss, 33, and Lawana Cleveland, 25, both of Gainesville.

Goss is charged with one count each of aggravated assault, kidnapping and false imprisonment. Cleveland is charged with one count each of attempted murder, kidnapping and false imprisonment.

Britte said the victim is a woman, 30 years of age with an address in the apartments.

"The victim at this time is being kept confidential due to the investigation," Britte said.

Britte said the two suspects were residents of the address police responded to. He said details of the case were being kept vague because of the, "delicate," nature of the investigation.
