ATLANTA (AP) -- Democrat Michelle Nunn is reporting strong fundraising numbers in her campaign for the U.S. Senate.

Nunn's campaign says she raised more than $1.6 million in the final three months of 2013. That brings the candidate's total fundraising to $3.3 million since Nunn launched her campaign last July.

Nunn, the daughter of former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn, is running for the Senate seat being vacated by Republican Saxby Chambliss, who plans to retire at the end of this year.

The 2014 race has also drawn a crowded field of Republicans including U.S. Reps. Paul Broun of Athens, Phil Gingrey of Marietta and Jack Kingston of Savannah. Former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel and former Dollar General CEO David Perdue are also seeking the GOP nomination.
