The loss marked the first blemish of the season for the Lady Bobcats (10-1, 3-1 PBC) as North Georgia (9-1, 3-0 PBC) led from start to finish.
Huffman was one of four Lady Nighthawks in double figures. Mimi Hill added 21 points and seven rebounds while Cierra Jackson returned to the starting lineup up to produce a 20 point, six rebound and four assist effort. Keeley Chester added 10 points and a team-best three steals for UNG.
UNG's leading scorer, Jaymee Carnes, was limited to eight points in just 13 minutes of action after suffering an early knee injury.
Enisha Donley led five Georgia College players with 16 points after connecting on half of her 14 attempts from the field.
UNG opened the game scoring the first nine points and led by as many as 13 (21-8) at the 11:13 minute mark on a layup by Hill. GC scored the game's next 12 point to cut the North Georgia lead to a single point but an 11-2 run by the Nighthawks gave UNG a ten-point (32-22) lead at intermission.
After a layup by GC's Enisha Donley to start the second half cut the deficit to eight, North Georgia scored the next six points compliments of bookend three-pointers from Jackson and would hold a double-figure lead until less than a minute left in the game. UNG led by as many as 21 (76-55) at the 3:03 mark and held off the Bobcats' late attempt to extend the game.
The two teams will meet again in Memorial Hall in Dahlonega in 11 days on January 15. North Georgia remains on the road with a mid-week conference challenge at Montevallo on Wednesday, January 8 with game time set for 6:30 p.m.
