GAINESVILLE - Hall County drug agents have arrested a Gainesville woman and charged her with fraudulently obtaining prescription drugs from two pharmacies in the Gainesville area.

Lt. Scott Ware with the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad said 45-year-old Marcia Kay Craven was arrested September 26 at a pharmacy in the 3700 block of Thompson Bridge Road. Ware said a phony prescription for hydrocodone had been called in to the pharmacy and Craven picked it up by signing someone else's name.

"When she was arrested, she was found in possession of another quantity of hydrocodone which had also been fraudulently obtained from another local pharmacy," said Ware.

Arresting agents said they also found a .38-calibre revolver in Craven's vehicle. Ware said it was not loaded, but there was ammunition in the vehicle.

Ware said Craven faces the following charges: possession of hydrocodone, obtaining drugs by fraud, forgery in the first degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Craven was booked into the Hall County Jail following her arrest.
