Waffle House thieves nab $40K in merchandise from customers

ATLANTA (AP) Police in Atlanta are investigating the pre-dawn robbery of several customers inside a Waffle House in the city's Buckhead area.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said three men at the 24-hour restaurant were robbed of their iPhones and jewelry. Estimated value of the stolen merchandise was $40,000.

Police said the crime happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday at the business on Piedmont Road.

No injuries were reported during the robbery.
