CONYERS -- This was supposed to be Gainesville's biggest test since Buford.

The Red Elephants made it look easy, however, rolling up over 500 yards of offense and holding Heritage to 148 in a 48-7 win on Friday in Conyers.

The Gainesville defense locked down the Patriot attack, allowing just 79 yards in the first half. It was plenty more than the Red Elephants' offense needed.

Gainesville (4-1, 3-0 Region 8-AAAAA) used six touchdowns from senior quarterback Deshaun Watson to cruise to a comfortable advantage. The signal caller completed an impressive 27 of 29 passes for 314 yards. Back-up quarterback Mikey Gonzalez also added a touchdown pass in the win.

Jay Gaudlock and Michael Byrd proved the Red Elephants' top targets on the night, each catching eight passes -- Gaudlock finishing with 110 yards and a score, while Byrd finished with 68 yards. Rodney Lackey also caught four passes for 77 yards and two TDs, while Chris Williamson added four ctahces for 58 yards and a pair of scores.

Orrin Ragland and Chastin Newman also caught touchdown passes in the win.

The Red Elephants will play host to Cedar Shoals next Friday.
