Volleyball: East Hall sweeps, Lakeview splits in tri-match

RABBITTOWN -- 10th-ranked East Hall swept past Gainesville and Lakeview, while the Lady Lions got the better of Gainesville on Thursday night in a tri-match in Rabbittown.

The Lady Vikings (26-13) defeated edged Gainesville in 25-27, 25-15 and 25-18 and took out Lakeview 25-19, 26-24.

Tarryn Long had 15 points scored on serve with five aces, 32 kills, three blocks and 19 digs to help lead East Hall, while Kara Hix had 11 points on serve with one ace, seven kills, two assists and 61 digs. Ashleigh Burnett also scored 13 points on serve with one ace, one assist and 23 digs; Emily Roberts also had eight kills, four digs and one block; Allyson Segars had five points scored on serve with one ace, seven kills, two assists, six blocks and three digs; Savannah Lindsey had 16 points scored on serve with six aces and 11 digs; Cassida Shockley had 14 points scored on serve with three aces, two kills, eight digs and 45 assists. Monica Dominguez also added three kills, one assist, one block and two digs.

Meanwhile, Lakeview defeated Gainesville 25-19, 25-19 in the opener before falling to East Hall. Katie White had 12 kills, 22 digs, and two aces and Shelby Ross had 12 kills, 12 digs, two blocks and an ace for Lakeview. Bailey Towles also had 13 assists, four kills, and an ace. Delaney Jarrett added nine assists and five aces; Samantha Versteeg had 21 digs.
