ALTO - One person was hurt when a sport utility vehicle went out of control and overturned on Yonah-Homer Road in Banks County Thursday morning.

According to Trooper 1st Class David Snyder of the Georgia State Patrol, the driver of the Honda Passport, which was traveling from the Hall County end of the road toward Homer, traveled off the road and over-corrected.

The vehicle then struck five trees and a fire hydrant, overturning onto the driver's side. The driver had to be freed from the wreck.

Additional details were not immediately available.

Yonah-Homer Road was shut down for about an hour following the wreck.
