Wildrego Jackson was to appear before a federal judge Tuesday, but the hearing was delayed.
Police identified Jackson as a suspect in the hours following Ayvani Perez's abduction Sept. 17. He was arrested the following day when he showed up for a previously scheduled court date in an unrelated case.
Authorities say armed men broke into the family's suburban Atlanta home early in the morning and took Ayvani at gunpoint. About 36 hours later, she was dropped off safe at her aunt's home.
Jackson faces a federal kidnapping charge. Another man was arrested in the case and is being held on immigration charges.
Police are still seeking other suspects in the abduction.
