Helen's Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts closing

HELEN - The Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts is closing its doors. ending 16 years of promoting the artists of Georgia. <br /> <br /> Beginning Thursday, September 26 through Monday, September 30, there will be a store wide sale each day from 10:00-4:00 at The Georgia Artists' Gallery in Helen. <br /> <br /> The GHCA gallery is called "Georgia Artists" and is located in the shopping center with ACE Hardware. <br /> <br /> Jaymi Hampton, Gallery Director, added that it is sad to be closing a non-profit that has had so much success promoting the artists of Georgia. The gallery was first in Tallulah Falls and then moved to Helen in 2010. Hampton thanked Georgia Power for providing them with a building in Tallulah Falls and David Wilkins for providing them with space in Helen.<br /> <br /> Hampton says that the artists will continue to work through other art galleries and many will be having open studios once or twice a year.
