ELLENWOOD - According to a criminal complaint, the suspects accused of kidnapping a 14-year-old girl from her suburban Atlanta home demanded drugs and money from her family in exchange for her safe return.

In the complaint released Thursday by U.S. Attorney's officials, an FBI special agent says the family of Ayvani Hope Perez received several calls from a man using a blocked number who eventually said the girl would be dropped off at a relative's house in Conyers, Ga.

Perez was taken from her home in Ellenwood Tuesday morning. Police have arrested 29-year-old Wildrego Jackson and 40-year-old Juan Alberto Contreras-Rodriguez in connection with the case.

Police records show Contreras-Rodriguez and Perez's mother were both arrested on drug charges in 2012, but were never convicted.

Jackson was in federal court Thursday.
