CUMMING, Ga. (AP) State wildlife officials say residents in a Forsyth County neighborhood should avoid feeding black bears recently seen in the area.

The bears have been spotted in a subdivision in the Cumming area, in the western part of Forsyth County.

Resident Jeff Adler snapped several photos of a large black bear followed by two smaller animals walking across a street and climbing over a fence in the area of the Polo Golf and Country Club.

Department of Natural Resources spokeswoman Melissa Cummings tells WXIA-TV that state officials have no plans to trap or remove bears in the area.

She said agency officials have been in touch with local authorities, advising them to allow the bears to keep moving as they work their way to a "more appropriate" habitat.
